The Short Answer
Whittled uses a coated hardwood puzzle substrate. Color is infused into that surface rather than applied as a paper layer. The image is then precision cut into a puzzle whose zones and whimsy shapes reflect what is in the picture.

Custom orders begin with the file you provide. Signature and Heirloom orders include image preparation and review; Whittled contacts you when resolution, cropping, color, or an important edge detail needs attention. Originals begin with artwork selected for color, texture, and building zones.

The image is not a paper print glued over the puzzle. Heat and pressure drive the color into the coated surface so the wood grain remains part of the finished object. That material process is the basis of the Whittled Lifetime Color Guarantee.

A laser follows the cut design through the hardwood puzzle substrate. Image landmarks create recognizable building zones, while whimsy shapes give the solver small discoveries that belong to the subject rather than a generic cut pattern.

The puzzle is matched to the order, prepared for its presentation, and packed for delivery. Originals are made to order and ship in up to 14 days. Custom timing begins after the image and production details are confirmed.
